This Privacy Policy explains how Bias Theory ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit biastheory.net, take the quiz, submit a form, purchase a Deep Dive Read, or subscribe to our mailing list.
By using the site you agree to the practices described here. If you have questions, email us at hello@biastheory.net.
Here is a plain-language breakdown of what information we collect, how we get it, and what we do with it:
| What | How | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Quiz answers and result data | Entered by you when taking the quiz | To generate your personality read. Not stored on our servers โ processed in your browser and passed to the AI generation service. |
| Email address | Voluntarily provided in suggestion forms or email signup | To respond to your message or send the newsletter you signed up for. Never required to use the site. |
| Suggestion and feedback submissions | Submitted via the form on the site | To read and act on your feedback. Stored in Formspree. Includes any information you choose to include. |
| Payment information | Entered via the Stripe payment form for Deep Dives | To process your purchase. We never see or store your card details โ Stripe handles all payment data directly. |
| Basic analytics | Collected automatically via Google Analytics if enabled | To understand how the site is being used (which pages are visited, where traffic comes from). Anonymized. |
What we do not collect: We do not collect your name unless you provide it. We do not store quiz results on our servers. We do not track your behavior across other websites. We do not build profiles tied to your identity.
When you take the Bias Theory quiz, your answers are processed entirely in your browser. Your results and dimension scores are only sent to Anthropic's API (to generate your Deep Dive read if you purchase one) and are not stored on Bias Theory's servers.
When you purchase a Deep Dive Read, your quiz data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your personalized report. This transmission is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy. The generated read is returned to your browser and not retained by us.
Bias Theory does not store, sell, or analyze individual quiz results for any purpose other than generating the product you requested.
Bias Theory may use Google Analytics to understand site traffic in aggregate โ things like how many people visit, which pages are most popular, and where visitors come from. This data is anonymized and does not identify you personally.
We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. We do not participate in behavioral advertising networks.
If you prefer not to be tracked by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Bias Theory uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy and data practices:
